Pauline Woods Obituary

Pauline L Woods 1937 -2024 passed away peacefully at home with her husband by her side on February 11, 2024.  Although heartbroken we are happy to know that she is having a wonderful reunion with her family.

Pauline was born on January 29, 1937, in Bart Township, PA to Frank Benjamin Armer and Cornelia Isabel (Tweed) Armer.  She grew up in Quarryville, PA and graduated from Solanco High School, class of 1955.  In 1960 she joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served a full-time mission in Southern California.  She married Robert McClellan Woods, Jr. on August 12, 1969, in the Salt Lake City Utah Temple with whom she shared 54 years of marriage.

Pauline loved teaching Primary at church and cherished her years in Primary.  She enjoyed cooking and loved to bake and made the best homemade pies.  Pauline loved spending time with family and cherished being a mom and grandmother.  She had a feisty sense of humor.  Pauline was compassionate and spent a lot of her time serving others.  She loved to read and passed that love unto her children.  In her younger years Pauline did competitive ballroom dance and played the accordion.

Pauline is survived by her husband Robert, daughters Lara Woods; Renee (Bryan) Richards; son-in-law Jacob Thompson and grandchildren; McKensie Thompson, Braden Thompson, Maddison Thompson, Megan Richards, Emily Richards and Alyson Richards, and sister Elvina Hagerty, along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son Darry R. Woods and daughter Tonja Thompson; by brothers, Richard, Robert, Donald and her twin Paul L. Armer; and sister Helen Farmer.

We would like to thank her caregivers with Consumer Direct and Valor Hospice who were a special and supportive part of Pauline’s life.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Friday, March 15, 2024, at the LDS Chapel at 1000 Taylor, Sierra Vista, AZ 85635.  Interment will follow the service in the Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
